Important Credit Information
It's that time of year!

If you want to arrange credit for your attendance at Science Hub Meetings this year, you will need to complete the Colorado School of Mines registration form and pay by check during the April or May meeting. CSM will no longer accept credit cards. Participants are not permitted to send in their own registrations, so we can not mail or email you these forms. If you are exercising your option for an "A" grade, please bring your science hub journal for review by one of the science hub coordinators. If you do not plan on attending either of the meetings and you want credit, you will need to give Sherry Freehill your information over the phone and mail the check to her or include the needed information when you mail your check. The deadline for signing up for credit is May 12th, 2012

Colorado’s District Sample Curriculum Project (information source: Brian Sevier, PhD, Standards Project Director, Colorado Department of Education

In curriculum design workshops this fall, over 500 Colorado educators, representing 61 school districts, created 670 curriculum samples based on all 10 content areas (grades k-12) of the Colorado Academic Standards (CAS). Utilizing a Colorado-designed and refined template, the samples provide organizing structures for addressing the grade-level expectations (GLEs), evidence outcomes (EOs) and 21st Century Skills that build students’ mastery of the standards at each grade level. The samples, the blank template upon which they are based, and a template with definitions can currently be accessed on the Standards and Instructional Support office website<http://www.cde.state.co.us/standardsandinstruction/index.asp>. Together, these resources were created by and for Colorado educators to support school districts as they intentionally plan for the successful implementation of the CAS in the 2013-14 SY. In the coming months, eNet Colorado will house the samples and templates in order to enhance customizability and allow Colorado school districts and educators further opportunities to explore the instructional potential of these resources.

GPS Units and SKY SCOUT

Don't forget that our program offers teachers the opportunity to checkout GPS units for classroom activities. See the details. We also have a SKY SCOUT which teachers can borrow to do astronomy activities. We have demonstrated this unit at several meetings this year. It is so cool for a group of budding astronomers.
